Allington Castle Wedding Photography

Allington Castle is one of Kent’s most unique and exclusive wedding venues that you will ever see. From its 12th century medieval Great Hall, manicured gardens, and picturesque moat you could not want for a more romantic setting for your wedding day.

I remember the first time I saw the castle and just though WOW it really is breath taking and a photographer’s dream. Everywhere you turn photo opportunities, from walking round the moat with swans swimming by, to the Great hall where you can imagine the bride walking down the aisle to meet her groom.

It is simply beautiful

My top 3 reason why I love Allington castle

My top 3 reason why I love to photograph at Allington Castle is

1. Organisation - this may sound silly, but I always like to visit a venue that I have not been to before and from the first contact through to arranging a pre-wedding shoot for my couple, the Allington Castle team were so helpful. Kerrie was happy to arrange a suitable date and time, allowing me to have a private tour of the Castle and grounds, answering any questions I had and giving me access to permitted areas. On the day of the wedding the team were there to completely support the wedding party, nothing was too much trouble and always with a friendly smile and helping hand throughout the entire day. Just what you would expect from a luxury exclusive 5-star venue.

2. Grounds & Gardens - I would love to get the gardener number lol, the grounds are immaculate. With beautiful all year-round flowers, to manicured lawns, these romantic surroundings really remind me of the Secret Garden. Everywhere you turn a new part of the grounds magically appears in front of you. You will seriously be happy to get lost in the 42 acres on your wedding day. One end of the gardens is a huge water fountain, and at the other end of the Italian garden is a dome pavilion where you can have a glass of champagne and give yourself time to reflect. It is simply the best surrounding for your couple portraits and group shots for your wedding day.

3. Great Hall – Now this really is a Great hall, with its medieval brick work to the high ceiling beams, long aisle to walk down and historic wall tapestries it really deserves it name. As soon as you see the Great hall and imagine walking down the aisle to your future where you start your married life together there is no better place to be, truly breath taking and just stunning. When the castle doors open and the bride is standing there getting ready to walk

down the aisle, it is a sight to behold and you and all your guests will remember this magical moment forever.

Top Tips for planning a Wedding at Allington Castle

Top Tips for planning a Wedding at Allington Castle

  • Relax - this is easier said than done, but when you book your wedding at Allington Castle you don’t need to worry, you are in very safe hands. These are wedding professionals and seriously know their stuff. Kerrie and her team will ensure your day runs smoothly and that you have the absolute best day possible. So, no need to worry about anything, just relax, enjoy the best day of your life, and leave the organising to the professionals.

  • Comfortable footwear or spare footwear - Wear whatever shoes you like but if you really want to get the best out of Allington Castle grounds I would recommend comfortable footwear for walking around the gardens. As I have said the grounds are amazing and well worth packing a pair of converse or pumps for this part of your day. But if you don’t fancy changing your footwear you could always get the groom to carry you around – start as you mean to go on!

  • Time for photos - Of course a photographer is going to say make time for photos but being at Allington Castle I really would try and make time for photos. I generally like to have two 30-minute session with just my couples on their wedding day, 30 minutes for couple photos and 30 minutes for evening photos, golden hour etc. There is nothing more perfect than a night-time photo with Allington Castle in the background lit up as it makes an incredible shot. So, although your wedding day is jam packed if I wanted to pinch you for some photos it is only because I have seen an photo opportunity and I want to capture your day perfectly at this dream venue.

Bride and her Dad.

I love capturing the first look of dad seeing his daughter in her wedding dress. This moment stays with a father forever. This does take a bit of planning to get that special moment, but it is well worth doing.

(p.s. If you see me getting glassy eye it is hay fever)

The first time the groom and brides see each other at the opposite ends of the aisle, is the start of their marriage and there is no better aisle to walk down and say your vows but in the Great Hall at Allington Castle.

Something a little bit fancy, couple photo at the other end of the Italian Gardens. Loved capturing the brides dress and veil and the both of you staring into each other’s eyes.

Natural moment

Wedding at Allington Castle picture taken in Italian Garden the couple wanted a first dance just the two of them together, so I used my Bluetooth speaker and played their first dance for them. This image to me captures pure love and joy and is the very moment that I love to get in my photos.
